back in Manchester but escaping again soon.

Sydney, Australia

After leaving New Zealand it was a shock to the system to arrive in Sydney.

We eventually settled in to a nice Travelodge and made the most of the city

Our fave part of Sydney was Darling Harbour:-)

This was in hagley park for the people who lost their lives in the Feb 22nd Earthquake.

Prince William was there.

Back in Christchurch

We decided to helpx at Chester St backpackers helping them reopen after the feb earthquake.

Canterbury High Country

After leaving Takaka we were lost on what to do so we just kept driving and decided to pull into a field and sleep in the car!

After a rubbish nights sleep we drove to peal forest

 

 

We then drove to MT Somers where we stayed for a couple of nights. while we at mt somers we drove to lake clearwater

Murchison via Buller Gorge

We stopped here to have a go crossing the longest swing bridge and we also did the the zip wire on the way back.

We stopped here to take in the murchison waterfall

Nelson Lakes

We arrived at Nelson Lakes and stayed in the local yha.

 

We had a great time going round the 3 lakes

Fishing

went fishing at private fishing lake caught 1.9kg salmon had it smoked on site and ate it for lunch other half vacuumed packed for another day

Campsite wash out

We decided to try camping again but once again it was rubbish. We ended up sleeping in the car after heavy rain caused the tent to leak! Also the tent being blue attracted BEES ha!!

Just across the road we found a place to swim

Havalock

We stayed the night in the yha in havalock which had the thinnest walls in the world!!

We found the walk just above the town which led to this waterfall.

We also had tea at the famous mussel house

Westport to Karamea

We drove to westport and stayed the night in a chalet then next day we drove to karamea!

We met Greg a couple of times as he was a friend of our flatmates in urban rooms.

Flossies Place

our new home for a few nights. We are house sitting and looking after the chucks,birds and 2 cats.

We didn't last long we had too many ideas and were not allowed to have a brain and do things different.

We stayed at the most amazing hostel which was a old church on a river bank.

We met an aussie guy who runs a cafe from his house in Ross we were chatting and he said he was going away for a wedding and we could look after his house and cats!!!.
